Unlike the Ethereum network, where the transaction fees are paid in ETH, the Binance Smart Chain charges fees under the BNB token. Once you've switched from the Ethereum network to BSC, BNB will be displayed as the main token, instead of ETH.
Please note:
Metamask works with the BSC network in the same way it does with the Ethereum network. Cheaper fees on the BSC network are paid for in BNB (ETH is replaced with BNB, and thus ETH is no longer used by the network.)
Your wallet address on both the Ethereum and BSC networks is IDENTICAL. If you've used the Ethereum MainNet to store assets, these assets won't be displayed after you switch to Binance SmartChain (because your assets are stored on the Ethereum blockchain). The assets will show up once again after you switch back to Ethereum MainNet.
